SAVANNAH, Ga – Joseph Flegler, Chris
Linton, Raye Bailey and Anthony Jones
all earned honorable mention on the
2007-08 Division I All-Independent
Team in a vote by head coaches and
sports information/media relation
directors of the independent schools.
Flegler, a senior guard from
Washington, DC, led the Tigers
averaging 8.8 points a game and 2.3
assists per game. Flegler also led the
squad in made 3-pointers with 32.
Linton, a junior forward from
Jacksonville, Florida led the team
with 5.9 rebounds per game and was
second in scoring averaging 8.6 points
per game and steals with 35. Linton
led the team averaging 27.7 minutes
played per game and field goals made
with 105.
Bailey, a junior guard from Port St.
Joe, Florida led the team in 3-point
shooting percentage with .477 and was
second in 3-pointers made (21) and
assists averaging 2.2 per game. Bailey
scored 5.4 points a game and 2.2
rebounds a game. He also had 31
steals.
Jones, a freshman guard from Stone
Mountain, Georgia led SSU in steals
(39) and free throws made (64) and was
third in field goals made (91) and
points per game (8.5). Jones averaged
22 minutes per game and started 20 of
the 31 games he played in.
The Tigers ended the 2007-08 season
with a 13-18 record.
